AAhh, climate …
AAhh, climate change… if it wasn’t for this nonsense, we would all focus our efforts on stopping Monsanto and their war waged on the genetic level to enslave all the food on earth.
Watch the “future of food” and “the world according to monsanto” for more.

There is no climate …
There is no climate crisis and the “collective we” cannot stop climate change. Believe in the human ability to adapt, humans have been doing it for thousands of years. Don’t hinder economic development and deprive developing countries the access to the same technologies and advantages that we have in the developed world. Don’t enslave developing countries by hindering their efforts to develop in a vain and worthless attempt to control the temperature of the earth!

A real question that needs to be answered. one question I have is why does the GM created EV-1 or EV1 created in 1994 0r 1996 get listed as a must destroy a 600 mile range 90mph car; ” and did you see : “who killed the electric car”?;

That said, you do …
That said, you do have a point.
Almost all the advances in automotive engine tech since the early 1980’s have lead to higher horsepower, not higher mileage.
And frankly, Cellulosic Ethanol Tech, is exactly the same infrastructure used for Coal-to-Liquids. And you can’t really stop other countries if they want to go ahead with that.

And there isn’t even possibly enough Sugar Cane ethanol to power a fraction of our transport fuels

==Technology is the …
==Technology is the answer? How then do you explain the current situation which is a result of technology?==
Well you do need technology.
However you also need the political backing for it to happen.
Right now we have less than 1% of the US DOE budget going to Solar/Geothermal/Hydro/Wind combined.
And more than half of the budget funding Nuclear.
It’s also the responsibility of the Government to start internalizing the externalized costs associated with dirty tech.

Technology is the answer? How then do you explain the current situation which is a result of technology? How do you ensure that the technological fix will not be worse than the original problem? I thought these people were supposed to be smart.

A few things I …
.
A few things I picked up:
The focus was on the US and technology-based solutions – neither are at the core of the changes we need to make.
The best comments came from the audience rather than the panelists – I would suggest that Davos re-style the way they do their sessions, to encourage more dialogue.
The point by Van Jones, about inspiring people, was spot on!
Some of the misconceptions were interesting.
World leaders don’t seem to be more creative than the rest of us

Very inspiring. Beautiful! It takes an optimist and a visionary to change the world for the better, but with the Google Guys requisite to see such visions backed by hard science, it makes the scenario more doable and that’s what Google does best.

I had an idea to do something similar for Uniting Central America by opening peoples minds to the possibility by having it optimistically bound around in their heads. I wanted to promote it through airlines and all national and international bus lines to open travels to the idea and inspire hope. Those are the best places because people are already inspired by travel.
